Cultivate Collective
Cultivate Collective is a holistic community hub on the southwest side of Chicago that unites education, wellness, sustainability, and economic vitality to support holistic human development and drive meaningful, multi-generational impact.
Located within the center of the LeClaire Courts public housing community, Cultivate addresses systemic inequality by providing health care, fresh food access, community gardens, nature-based play scapes, neighborhood walking trails, vital services, whole child education, and wellness programming.
The Cultivate Campus
Completed in the fall of 2023, Cultivate Collective's first phase of construction houses the Academy for Global Citizenship's K-8 public school, an early childhood Head Start center, a community health care center, three-acre urban farm, neighborhood marketplace, six teaching kitchens, and a range of community wellness programs and amenities.
Adjacent to our 71,000 square foot facility are ample outdoor community spaces, community gardens, and walking trails for convening and programming. Over three acres of the six acre site will be dedicated to nature, food production, regenerative agriculture orchards, and beautification.
Cultivate's second phase of development will include a clean energy training hub, an environmental learning lab, and a teacher training institute to support economic development and wealth generation for our Southwest Chicago community members.
Chicago's Climate Champion
Cultivate Collective has been recognized as Climate Champion at the 2025 Chicago Innovation Awards for its sustainable approach to community revitalization and lasting positive impact on Chicago.
We are currently on track to meet the world’s most ambitious standards for sustainability through the Living Building Challenge, which most notably refers to net-positive energy and water, with 550 kW of solar energy on-site in addition to 50 geothermal wells and battery storage to ensure climate resiliency.
