General AGC Tours

Join us for an immersive 90-minute tour to take an in-depth look at our innovative facility and learn more about our educational model!

The Academy for Global Citizenship, based at the Cultivate hub, is on track to become the first project in the Midwest to meet the most ambitious environmental standards in the world—the Living Building Challenge—by producing its own food, achieving energy and water net-positivity, and establishing a comprehensive model for community revitalization. The sustainability hub also serves as a solar energy educational lab and experiential STEM immersion site, that enables hands- on learning avenues for cultivating the next generation of socially responsible leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Our hub includes unique facilities, resources and programming, including a health center, fresh foods marketplace and café, teaching kitchens, community gardens, wellness facilities, neighborhood walking trails and green spaces, a three-acre urban farm and opportunities for social enterprise development. The Academy for Global Citizenship’s early childhood center and K-8 public school are also housed on-site, both of which are rooted in nature-based and environmental educational methods.

The tour will feature a comprehensive overview of the Academy for Global Citizenship’s mission and model, including environmental education, global citizenship, and health and wellness. Participants will learn more about the various dimensions of well-being inspired by our Wellness Wheel, including our plant-forward and scratch-made food program. Discover how we cultivate intellectual curiosity using our International Baccalaureate, Dual Language, experiential learning curriculum. View our nature-based play and outdoor education spaces to learn more about our approach to student and community physical wellbeing. See how we inspire spiritual wellness and community connection by using nature and communal gathering, and explore our on-site health center, fresh food marketplace and urban farm. Our commitment to environmental sustainability will be showcased as we explore the net-positive energy architecture, geothermal and solar energy systems, net-positive water strategy, and culinary gardens.

We are available to host individuals and groups throughout the year. You can sign up for one of our monthly tours here, or if you are bringing a group of more than six people, we ask that you reach out directly. All tours will last approximately 1.5 hours and feature an in-depth look at our new facility and grounds.

Please inquire further by emailing community@cultivatehere.org, or sign up through the link above. If you are a prospective parent, we strongly encourage you to attend that tour as it is specifically designed for families who are considering enrollment and is led by our educational team.
