K–8 Admissions

At the Academy for Global Citizenship, children are not just learners—they are changemakers.

Every child brings curiosity and promise into the world. We nurture it into purpose and action.

AGC is a free, open-enrollment public charter school for students in grades K-8 living anywhere within the City of Chicago. Enrollment is determined through an annual lottery so that every family receives a fair and equal opportunity.

We especially encourage families in LeClaire Courts, Sleepy Hollow, Vittum Park, West Elsdon, and Archer Heights to apply, though there is no neighborhood boundary or residential preference in the lottery.

Ready to enroll? Complete the K-8 application below to get started.

Questions? Reach out to admissions@agcchicago.org. We’re here to help!

K-8 Application Process

AGC’s K-8 Application process includes two forms. Both forms needed to be completed by March 1 for the upcoming school year in order to be entered into the lottery.

Application Deadline: March 1

1. Complete the Intent to Enroll Form

2. Complete the Student Registration Form

Lottery Draw: March 31

Every eligible applicant is entered into a fair, randomized lottery. Families are notified of results shortly after.

If a child is not selected during the lottery, families can request to be added to AGC’s registration waitlist. AGC will reach out as soon as a spot becomes available.

Sibling Clause: Younger siblings of currently enrolled students are automatically enrolled as long as they have applied or are on the waitlist. No lottery needed—we take care of it!

AGC accepts applications year-round, but applying before the lottery deadline gives your family the best chance of securing a spot.
