The Academy for Global Citizenship is an open enrollment, free public charter school for students living within the City of Chicago limits. As a charter school, enrollment is based on an annual lottery. There is a sibling clause, which automatically enrolls the younger sibling of current students as long as they have applied or are on a current waitlist.
The Intent to Enroll form must be completed and a current student registration form must be completed by March 1st for the following school year you wish to participate in the Academy for Global Citizenship's lottery. However, applications are accepted all through the year for our waitlist.
We particularly encourage families in LeClaire Courts, Sleepy Hollow, Vittum Park, West Elsdon, and Archer Heights to apply. However, there is no neighborhood boundary or preference given based on residential area.
If you have any questions regarding admissions, please reach out to admissions@agcchicago.org.
Please apply by March 1, 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year in order to be entered into the lottery. Those applying after March 1st will be added to our waitlist if no slots remain.
AGC accepts applications throughout the year, but your chances of securing a slot are higher if you apply before the lottery date.
If there are more applicants than slots available in the tuition-based slots, AGC will conduct a randomized sub-lottery to determine enrollment.
