Choosing a school for your child is one of the most meaningful decisions you'll make, and we’re honored that you’re considering the Academy for Global Citizenship.
At AGC, our community is built on curiosity, connection, and a belief that children are capable of extraordinary things when they're truly known and supported.
From our bilingual learning villages to our sustainability-centered campus, AGC is a place where kids don't just prepare for the world—they begin to shape it.
We’d love to welcome you. Here's everything you need to know to get started!
The Academy for Global Citizenship (AGC) is an open enrollment, free Chicago Public Charter School for students in grades K-8 living within the City of Chicago limits. As a charter school, enrollment is based on an annual lottery.
AGC also houses an Early Childhood Program for students ages 3-5 which includes both a Head Start Program and a Tuition-Based Program.
There are two different admission processes for Pre-K and K-8 students.
2026-27 Deadline to Apply for K-8: March 1st, 2026
2026-27 Deadline to Apply for Pre-K: July 1st, 2026
The best way to understand what makes AGC different is to walk through the door!
Prospective family tours run monthly and give you a real look at our learning villages, campus, and community in action.
We are currently in the process of scheduling the next series of AGC prospective family tour dates for the 2026-27 school year.
Please check back in late August for confirmed tour dates.
