Sylvie Anglin

AGC Board Member

Sylvie has been an active Board Member of the Academy for Global Citizenship since 2016. She first visited AGC as a teacher and was inspired by its innovative approach to education, fostering not only academic excellence but also a deep commitment to sustainability and global citizenship. AGC’s dedication to cultivating holistic learners who are empowered to enact positive change in their communities resonates deeply with her values and aspirations.

Sylvie Anglin is an education leader at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, serving as a teacher for 13 years before becoming the Lower School Principal, her current role for the past 14 years. She holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is currently earning a Certificate of Advanced Leadership from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. 

Sylvie's interests and projects include design thinking curriculum, aesthetic and sustainability education with school gardens and Lab’s outdoor classroom, social justice education, and education partnerships with museums such as the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum and the Field Museum of Natural History. She served as a Board Member and committee chair of the Administrative Services Committee for the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS).
