Matt Hankins

Matt believes that education is the best way to create a lasting and scalable impact on people and communities. He is proud of what AGC is able to accomplish within Chicago and he is passionate about the ability to leverage all the great work we have done in Chicago elsewhere within the United States and beyond. Matt has lived in Chicago for 17 years and cares deeply for the city and its people. Having been on AGC’s board for nearly a decade, he has gotten to know many of the families within the community and he feels blessed by the strong sense of connection he has been able to develop with the community, the students, and the staff.

Matt Hankins is a Managing Director on the H.I.G. Advantage team. He is responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including origination, transaction structuring, financing, and execution of post-closing growth strategies. Matt has more than 10 years of experience investing in middle-market companies and has executed transactions in several industries, including business services, infrastructure services, e-commerce services, healthcare services, financial services, and technology. Matt currently serves on the board of Capstone Logistics.

Prior to joining H.I.G., Matt worked in middle market private equity with Sterling Partners. Prior to that, Matt co-founded Metropolitan Capital Bank. Matt began his career in strategy roles with J.P. Morgan and Accenture.

Matt received his B.S.E., with honors, from The University of Michigan College of Engineering and his M.B.A., with honors, from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
