Tony Sutton

AGC Board Member

A lifelong educator, Tony recently founded, and is principal consultant of, The Field Collaborative, an educational and leadership consulting collaborative. Tony began his career in education as a middle school special education teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina. During his time in the classroom, Tony also taught elementary school special education, served as a basketball coach, and after school programs teacher. Upon transitioning to school leadership, Tony served in multiple roles, before moving to Chicago to serve as principal of a single-site K-8 charter school in West Town. Tony has also served as a principal of a high school in North Lawndale, and Chief Education Officer of a Chicago non-profit.

As a leader with charter school experience, Tony Sutton was familiar with, and an admirer of, AGC from afar. An in-depth visit and subsequent conversations with AGC stakeholders affirmed Tony’s desire to seek invitation to AGC community and become a partner in advancing ACG’s mission, vision, and values. Tony is honored to be a part of the AGC community and looks forward to contributing to AGC amplifying its impact on the incredible young people it serves.
