Beatriz Gorman

When people ask Beatriz where she is from, she usually says California... because she knows she’s not Mexican the way her family in Mexico is, and even though she’s lived on the Southwest side of Chicago since 2007, she wasn't raised here. This lifetime of being "ni de aquí, ni de allá" has taught her the importance of knowing and owning your feelings, your experiences, and using your voice to advocate for yourself. As a school social worker, this has been her mission - to be a part of an organization that values that and to help others to do the same.
