Ren was inspired to pursue education as a career path after a profound few years teaching youth up to elders at a community garden and urban farm. They then spent multiple years teaching Farm to School to K-8 students, and she was inspired by holistic education that prioritizes hands-on, culturally significant, inclusive and place-based learning. They have a B.A with honors from Michigan State University in Comparative Cultures and Politics, with minors in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems, Peace and Justice Studies, International Development, and Development in International Agriculture and Natural Resources. She loves to travel, and has road tripped around the U.S in a van and has spent time in India, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Ireland, Canada, and Colombia. Ren loves to connect their passion for equity, community, the environment and food to the Sustainability Special, and is excited to continuously cultivate wonder and belonging at AGC.
