The Academy for Global Citizenship has been honored as Community Changemaker at the 2026 Food Health LIVE Awards for its transformative work at the intersections of wellness, education, and sustainability.
The Food Health Network unites global leaders and innovators to drive the progress and practice of food in daily life. Since its launch, AGC has become a globally recognized model and learning lab, training over 10,000 educators and impacting more than five million students worldwide.
AGC’s recent feature in 2025’s Farm to School Lunch Across America, a national documentary produced by The Henry Ford, further underscores AGC as a powerful example that community-centered food systems can be sustainable, culturally relevant, and a powerful form of advocacy.
Today, AGC’s Nourish the Neighborhood initiative continues to build awareness and access to nutritious food for children and community members in partnership with Cultivate Collective to foster community revitalization across Southwest Chicago.
The Community Changemaker award was accepted with gratitude by Kris De La Torre, Managing Director of Cultivate Collective, in April 2026 and proudly shared with the neighbors, partners, and participants who make AGC's mission possible.
Rooted in wellness, environmental sustainability, and social justice, AGC has reimagined the role and purpose of schools, nurturing more mindful leaders who create positive change across Chicago and the world.
