She grew up in Indiana and then majored in Spanish and studied ESL. She had the chance to study in the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Spain before moving to China to teach English to doctors at a medical school. She worked as a paraprofessional in an elementary and middle school, and then taught Spanish and ESL in high school. After moving to Illinois, she primarily taught ESL to adults. She loves gardening, cooking, spending time with her family and pets, and enjoying all different genres of music (including jazz!) with her husband and two children. She would love to visit Puerto Rico on a family vacation.
