The Academy for Global Citizenship (AGC) is proud to share that co-principals Berenice Salas and Saskia Gorospe-Rombouts have been named 2026 CPS Principal Game Changers by Chicago Public Schools.
Each year, CPS recognizes 20 principals across the city with the distinction, celebrating school leaders for their vision, innovation, and commitment to educational excellence.
Together, Berenice and Saskia have contributed more than 15 years of their time, expertise, and care into AGC’s purpose-driven school community, first as teachers and now as its principal team. Their passion for student-centered learning and continuous improvement, along with their shared leadership approach, drive AGC's growing impact across Chicago.
As the Pre-K-8 institution enters its 19th school year following a historic 7-year charter renewal and an official Living Building certification, this Game Changer milestone gives Southwest Chicago the opportunity to celebrate two outstanding leaders helping AGC lead the way in reimagining education for all.
Rooted in wellness, environmental sustainability, and social justice, the Academy for Global Citizenship’s innovative educational model nurtures more mindful leaders who create positive, lasting change in their lives and communities.
AGC’s bold vision to reimagine public education has grown into a movement, training over 10,000 educators and impacting more than five million students worldwide.
